  First Year

A foundation course for all first-year students provides training in analytical, theoretical, and methodological skills. After completion of this course, students have the opportunity to participate in reading groups connected with their research. One to four reading groups are offered each semester. Additionally, students can join a research seminar, dedicated either to a piece of recent literature or to a central problem of ancient philosophy.

Second and Third Year

During the second and third year, students focus on the completion of their dissertations. Candidates have the opportunity to present their projects to the whole faculty and discuss them with the members of the School and invited international guests. The Graduate School offers advanced text seminars, research seminars, and soft-skills courses on, e.g., oral and multi-media presentation or writing grant applications.
